Digging La Vall de Laguart

After staying with several generous couchsurfing hosts in El Campello, Vilajoiosa, Altea and Pedreguer, I hiked inland and up to LaVall de Laguart, where I am a HelpX volunteer on a small English farm at the top of the world. I hope to stay here for a week or two, digging in a garden and giving my knees a break before moving on to Valencia.

Ken, would you be next saturday 24th on Vall de Laguar, if so, I could be visit you! Elena from Alicante or Alacant.

Just saw your comment, Elena, and I'm down from the mountain in Oliva now. Sorry! Why don't you walk with me a bit between Gandia and Valencia? I'm trying to make this into a peace walk and not only a personal pilgrimage.

What this is all about

I am a Quaker whose intention was to walk from Portugal to Egypt for peace.

Between November, 2011 and January, 2013, I walked some 5500 kilometers from Portugal to Istanbul, Turkey. I hitchhiked from Istanbul to Iskenderun, Turkey, then caught a ship to Haifa, Israel, where I was denied entry. I continued with the ship to Port Said, Egypt, where I began walking once again, to Cairo, and to the Giza pyramids. I then took a bus to Dahab, then Taba, Sinai, to try to enter Israel again. Once again I was denied entry. I'm in Dahab now, ready to leave Egypt and end this walk.
While I have made most of the walk alone, I have also walked with others; with some for an hour or two, with others for days or even months; most notably with my daughter, Olivia, and with a friend at the time, Inge.
