On to Nimes

Janet Ferguson, the Quaker who walked with me after I left Congenies. She became a Quaker at about 22, after first hearing about the Quakers while on holiday in Austria. Someone had brought up the topic of the Quakers by asking what they were all about. Another responded that the Quakers were all about simplicity. That was all it took for Janet to start attending a Quaker meeting.

The marvels of medieval engineering (or Roman, even?)

Janet treated me to a drink and a snack, and we had a good chat.

On my own by the time I got to Nimes, here giving my feet a break.

My first host in Nimes, high-energy, hospitable, Angelique; she had just returned from a two day hike in the Pyrenees when she hosted me.

  1. Love the photo of the bridge! Actually I wasn't 18 more like 22 when I heard about Quakers.
